Horse & Rider Therapy with ConTact C.A.R.E.

Enhancing Horse Mobility, Releasing Muscle Tension in Riders, Benefits of ConTact C.A.R.E.

At Equi Handz, we specialise in treating both horse and rider as a unit. Horses are unique—they must balance not only their own structural pressures, but also those of the rider and their gear, all while performing demanding tasks like dressage, jumping, or stock work.

Using the Flinchlock Release Method, we can:

  • Address injuries and imbalances in the horse
  • Work with the rider’s posture, pelvic angles, and pressure zones
  • Assess the impact of gear (e.g. saddles, bridles) on horse performance
  • Help fine-tune the connection between horse and rider for better performance, responsiveness, and comfort
This service offers a holistic view of equine performance improving trust, movement, and communication between horse and rider.

Horses – Performance & Wellbeing

As our horses carry us, they also carry our pressures and injuries—both physical and emotional.

A Real-Life Scenario:

You're in the middle of your final dressage test for the season. You cue a simple leg yield—something your horse usually does with ease. But today, there's no movement... no yield. You're confused. Everything was working yesterday.

Could it be because you tripped on the stable step and landed on your hip? Could that small incident really affect your horse's performance?

Absolutely.

This is a classic example of how the rider’s injury or imbalance can interfere with the horse’s ability to respond.

The ConTact C.A.R.E.® Difference

Using the Flinchlock Release Method, we help release pressure and restriction within your horse’s skeletal structure. This allows for a reset in natural balance, restoring comfort, responsiveness, and performance.

This gentle, hands-on technique is particularly effective for:

  • Unexplained performance issues
  • Stiffness, head tossing, or refusal
  • Behavioural changes
  • Trust or handling difficulties
  • Pre-show or event preparation
  • General wellbeing and calmness

Performance Tune-Up Sessions ConTact C.A.R.E.

Performance Tune-Up is ideal in the lead-up to a show, competition, or big training block.

🕒 Sessions typically last 30–60 minutes.

While some issues resolve in a single session, many horses benefit from a series of 3 sessions spaced 1–2 weeks apart for deeper, long-lasting balance and release.
